Viktorov's “Under The Red Flag” is a strong, abstract departure from the prevailing socialist realism employed so often by Soviet artists and graphic designers. Here, the red flag of the Soviet Union is the sail above the the ship, represented by the various flags of the Soviet republics, powering forward to an unseen but optimistic destination. The themes of unity, progress and dynamism are all captured in this wonderful example of the work by this Soviet era master.

The design, print, and publishing information (printed Moscow, run of 100,000, etc) is printed at the foot of the poster. The poster is in very good condition; one tear (repaired) above and to the left of star, edges remain sharp and free of any nicks, abrasions or loss.
