One of the most influential graphic designers in Britain during the 1920’s, a period of remarkable creativity as large companies began to utilise posters in a more considered and systematic way. Highly regarded, Gregory Brown designed posters for the railways, Empire Marketing Board, and of course London Underground.
This poster, commissioned by Underground Electric Railways, London, shows a stylised but charming view of Ascot. Of greater importance is the General Bus company’s logo, later adopted by London Underground & now one of the most recognised logos in the world.
