With the expansion of the rail network during the later half of the nineteenth century, Cabourg, on the Normandy coast, developed into a fashionable resort for affluent holiday makers. The centre of the resort was the ornate Grand Hotel and casino.

This 1950’s poster shows a more relaxed contemporary period of sun seekers, sailors and fêtes goers, whilst Cabourg’s past Belle Époque splendor is shown by the seafront Grand Hotel. It is an appealing and effective combination.

The poster is linen backed and in good condition with no paper loss, nicks or abrasions. The colours remain deep and sharp.
