Title:  Fly BEA to Winter Sports – Switzerland
Year:  c.1960s
Artist: unknown
Size (cm): 63.5 x 101.5
Country of origin: U.K.

Forerunner of today’s British Airways, BEA had a progressive and modern view of it’s advertising, switching from graphic to photographic imagery in its posters as soon as economically viable. The poster from the early 1960s uses a photo of skiers at Roc D’Orsay to project the idea of relaxing, social, winter sun, high in the Swiss Alps – an appealing idea for aspirational 1960s Britons.

The poster is in good condition, complete and fee from tears. One small area of print loss runs along the upper edge, and the corners show signs of old cellotape at the corners. On the reverse of the lower right corner some light archival tape has been added to support the fragile condition of the paper. Detail images are available on request
