Originally two separate and rival companies, CZ and JAWA were first nationalised by the Communist Government in 1946 and then merged in 1948. Success in competitions added to wide popular appeal allowing the company to become one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in Europe during the post war period.
This poster, unsigned but attributed to František Kardaus, shows the classic ČZ 150 and JAWA 250 models in an exciting and dynamic setting next to their respective logos. Kardaus, who studied both graphic and industrial design, is considered one of the true greats in Czech poster design with extensive work for Skoda, Tatra, Tesla & the Czech film industry.
The poster, linen backed, is in excellent condition.
