Rare to find a Porte Menu in such good condition, and this is a particularly nice one. The main picture is by Jean-Gabriel Domergue of a stylish young woman, the St Raphael “Twins” skiing on snow and water are on the far side. The message is clear: a sophisticated aperitif, good for all seasons.

Domergue produced the original artwork for St Raphael in 1937. In the early 1950s the twins logo changed from the “activity” motif shown here and reverted back to the familiar red and and white silhouettes on a black background. The window for the design shown here is approximately 1937~52

This is in really excellent condition, free of any stains or surface dirt. Unlike the more common Dubonnet Porte Menu’s no blotting paper has been glued down so both sides remain free and without paper or residues of glue. In a box frame this is a lovely solution for anyone constrained by space yet seeking something stylish and original.
