Filippo Romoli (1901~1969); widely honoured and recognised as a significant force in twentieth century Italian poster design, was an early pioneer of Art Deco and later, Futurist style posters. Much of his work was related to the Travel industry of which this poster is a fine example. Here, the eye is drawn to the action and movement either side of the narrow strip of golden sand which dissects the image, the deep, azure blue of the Adriatic in front and the lush green of the hinterland behind.

Despite being folded the poster is in good condition. There is one very small hole above the “N” where vertical and horizontal folds meet. There are a couple of small tears along the white border along with the usual nicks expected on a poster of this age. Overall the poster is in good/reasonable condition with no fading; the colours remain deep and rich. A lovely example of Romoli’s later work.
