Country of origin: France

Terrot of Dijon was at one time the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in France. An innovative designer of both motor and peddle bikes, Terrot won races in numerous classes and events during the first half of the twentieth century. The iconic marque fell into disuse following the acquisition by the Peugot group in 1958 with production in Dijon ceasing in 1961.

This poster seeks to emphasise the versatility of Terrot’s products: suitable for the professional rider or courier as well the recreational cyclist. It was designed by artist Victor Dumay who produced several posters for Terrot during the 1930s and again in the 1950s. He used the initials “TDT” visible in the bottom right corner. The printers name “Affiches Gaillard, Paris” runs along the lower border.

The poster is unbacked & generally in very good condition. Some small nicks, tears and impact creases are evident at the edges which are entirely consistent with the age of the poster. It is complete, free from loss & looks great.
